Are you unsure of what should be coming up on the screen of your water softener? We know it can be confusing if you haven’t worked with one before. This article will explain what it should look like.
If you are turning on a new softener or after a long power outage:
It’s first going to show the model code for a quick second and then show the software version. After these two, it will go through basic programming. Check out our Softener Programming Guide article if you need additional assistance with programming. If your screen looks different, continue on.
Is your water softener coming up with all dashes?
- Don’t worry! Sometimes that can happen. Go ahead and use the arrows (by pushing up or down) to set the correct model code.
Is your water softener beeping fast?
- If this happens, go ahead and check the wiring on the backside of the screen. If you’ve checked it and didn’t find any issues, we recommend replacing the control board. If you are still under warranty, have your serial/model number handy and Contact Us. Otherwise, replacement parts can be purchased here.
If you are turning on a softener that just had a replacement control board installed:
You may see a quick flash of the software version, then it should go to all dashes to set the correct model code. Go ahead and use the arrows (by pushing up or down) to set the correct model code.
